The king’s speech to Congress may have given a jolt to US Republicans, but also to us soft republicans here in the UK (How King Charles’s speech was written – and how to read it, 29 April). • Can I recommend indoor climbing to your older readers, please? No rain, much safer than cycling, and much more interesting than the gym (Over-75s drive levels of physical activity in England to record high but inequalities remain, 23 April). I started in my late 60s and started a group at 74.
